Filming of the long-running Australian soap opera Neighbours is due for a major shake-up next year with rumours circling the entertainment industry that filming will now take place in Watsonia North instead of at Pin Oak Court in the eastern suburb of Vermont. The move would represent a dramatic shift in the filming schedule of the popular series, as industry insiders speculate on the exact reason for the change.

One insider, who initially leaked the information to The Watsonia Bugle, claimed that the move was due to Watsonia North’s “increased social profile and true representation of the idyllic Australian dream”. They also said, “Catering on a large-scale production like Neighbours costs producers thousands of dollars. However, with Watsonia’s broad range of takeaway food options, they won’t even need to hire catering trucks, they’ll just send someone up to Watsonia Road to get a big group order.”

While the insider insists that the move will happen, they remained tight-lipped about the exact location in Watsonia North. They said, “I can’t tell you that. I’ve already risked enough by telling you this much. But, you know, the current ‘Ramsay Street’ is actually a court in real life, so it could be anywhere in Watsonia North, to be honest. It’s a very exciting moment for residents in the area.”
