A local Bombers fan is bravely preparing to celebrate a memorable 2025 season by bracing for not one, but two losses in this weekend’s final round. Long-time Essendon fan Neville O’Donnell claims it’ll be the perfect way to cap off the absolute dumpster fire of a season this year has been for the red and black. 

Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle today, O’Donnell said, “It wasn’t until I was doing me footy tips this arvo that I realised that a cruel twist this stupid last round will be. Just when I thought 2025 couldn’t kick me in the pants any harder, here it is… a likely loss to those fellow pissants Carlton, and then a loss to the AFL’s little nepo baby.”

However, not one to be kept down for too long, O’Donnell did identify at least one silver lining. He said, “Look, as long as the bloody Suns beat us by enough to get their percentage above Collingwood’s and kick them out of the top 4, not all will be lost for this year.”
