A Melbourne man sat down yesterday and just really listened to “These Days” by Powderfinger, as he let the reality of a fifth lockdown fully wash over him. Dave Tindall took the time to reflect, as he sat by the window and contemplated life.
Speaking to The Watsonia Bugle about his experience, Tindall said, “You know what, Bernie was right all along. Things haven’t gone to plan. And control is slipping right through my hands. Fanno knows what he’s talking about.”
Staggered that the song was actually released in 1999, Tindall conceded that that realisation had a double impact on him. He said, “On the one hand I’m like, how did they predict the future over two decades ago? And then I just had the crushing reality that it’s been 22 years since that album came out. I mean, that makes me so fucking old. I still view that as contemporary Aussie rock. I’m way out of touch.”
