Former Geelong premiership player Cameron Mooney has revealed that he is actually on the verge of tears every time he speaks on TV in his current role as a broadcaster. Mooney’s admission ends over a year of speculation, and gives great insight into the challenges of providing decent content in a crowded on screen environment.
Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle, Mooney said, “yeah I actually am close to tears every time I speak on TV. And it makes sense when you really think about it. I mean, did you see those goals I missed in the 2008 Grand Final? Not to mention the terrible gags they make me run with on Bounce every Sunday night.”
In an attempt to remedy the situation, Mooney has tried a number of alternative therapies, including the bizarre step of speaking out loud while cutting onions. So far he has been unable to find a solution. We applaud Mooney’s honesty and wish him well in his search for a successful treatment.
