A Watsonia man has been spotted loading animals into the large speed boat next to Da Vinci’s Pizza ahead of the imminent deluge predicted to strike Melbourne over the next two days. The man, who only gave his name as “Noah”, spent most of this afternoon collecting different species of animals after reading of the rainy forecast for the weekend.

The boat itself has been parked in the car yard for at least a few weeks, raising the eyebrows of many local residents who are aware that the nearest decent body of water is about 30 kilometres away. While that in itself shouldn’t jeopardise the potential sale of any water craft, the threat of flash flooding has obviously rushed the sale through, which is fantastic news for the vendors.

While Noah himself refused to explain how he would manage conflict between such a diverse collection of animals, he admitted that there had already been a few close shaves. He said, “I’m not sure why, but the giraffes really don’t like the zebras. Maybe they’re sick of spending so much time together at the Melbourne Zoo.”
