A 33-year-old Watsonia man has heard a song from his youth on Gold FM and it’s thrown his life into disarray – triggering a full-blown identity crisis. The man, Steve Bramwell, heard Green Day’s “Nice Guys Finish Last” while driving home from work yesterday and has spent the last 24 hours taking a good hard look at himself.

Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle this afternoon, Bramwell said, “It just really threw me you know. Gold 104 has always been old classics from the past, so to hear a song that I clearly remember being into when I was a teenager was a serious reality check for me. Who am I? Where am I headed? What am I doing with my life?”

While Bramwell refused to be drawn on the fact he was actually listening to Gold 104 in the first place – and what this told him about his current life stage – he told us he was not sure what consequences yesterday’s experience would have for his future radio listening choices. He said, “I need time to re-evaluate where I’m at with all this. For a few dark hours yesterday I even considered getting into AM talkback, but thankfully I came out of that headspace reasonably quickly.”
