With Michael Bublé’s Christmas album on high rotation in her household each night this week, Greensborough resident Faye Henderson can now sing the festive tune “Feliz Navidad” word for word, leading to her questionable claim of being bilingual. Undeterred by widespread scepticism of her claims, Henderson has said, “I’ve always been real interested in other cultures and that, so ‘Feliz Navidad’ is one of my favs on that album”.

Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle, Henderson said, “I know that song like the back of me hand, so I’m pretty much able to speak Spanish. I always tick ‘bilingual’ on any forms that ask how many languages I can speak. Feliz Navidad means ‘I want to wish you a Merry Christmas’. I’m a fast learner.”

When we quizzed Henderson on whether she knew more than two Spanish words she simply replied, “sí”, but then refused to elaborate.
