Sydney Swans superstar Buddy Franklin has allegedly accelerated his return to elite footy by choosing his preferred topic for tonight’s latest episode of “AFL Game Show”. Playing to his strengths, Franklin has reportedly selected ‘Kick a bag against Essendon’, as he prepares to punish his all-time favourite opponent.

With the new season’s rule changes already prompting early calls that the days of the AFL spearhead are back, Franklin has confided with club insiders that tonight is the night to put the foot down on his comeback. Franklin has kicked 70 goals in 16 games against the Bombers (including 50 in 10 when he was at the Hawks) and also notched such memorable moments as making Cale Hooker consider a career change.

An anonymous insider at the Swans has also revealed that tonight’s match against the Bombers might actually be the true reason Franklin was rested last week. The source claimed, “Yeah, pretty much. Sure, we wanted to manage his workloads, but ultimately we wanted him cherry ripe for the Dons. He just loves playing those blokes.”
