A Watsonia man has described cooking hash browns in the toaster as an “absolute game changer”, and claims it will revolutionise the way he prepares family breakfasts in the future. Daniel Hannon stumbled across the trick last week when a friend mentioned it at work, before trialing it last Sunday morning when he cooked breakfast for the family.
Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle about his experience, Hannon said, “Mate, it was unbelievable. As soon as my mate mentioned it I thought to meself, ‘I’m definitely trying that on the weekend’. Sure enough, Sunday morning rolls around, I’m on breakfast duty, and voila! Hash browns cooked to perfection, and at a fraction of the time. It was awesome.”
Hannon bravely admitted that he always struggled with the timing of getting the hash browns ready at the same time as the eggs, bacon and mushrooms, but the new trick made that so much easier. He said, “This will revolutionise my breakfast preparations, it really will. The number of times we’ve had to eat hash browns after the main meal is embarrassing. But that will no longer happen!”
While Hannon conceded that the new method posed some challenges with simultaneously preparing the toast, he insisted that that was a minor inconvenience when weighed against the benefit of quicker hash brown preparation. He said, “Nah, I can work around that easy as, mate. No problem. It was a bit messy on Sunday, but I’ll master it soon enough.”
