A motorist, who was clearly not a local, was yesterday seen driving towards oncoming traffic on The Circuit, just opposite Savers in Greensborough. While local witnesses claim it’s not the first time they’ve seen such a catastrophic error of judgement, it was no less dangerous, leading to calls for a comprehensive education campaign for visitors to the local area.

One such witness, Sharon Kendall, told The Watsonia Bugle, “I’ve seen it a few times over the years, but it really takes my breath away each time. It’s full scary. I guess for us locals that whole bizarre intersection makes sense, but if you’re not from around here it probably makes absolutely no sense at all.”

Despite local authorities remaining tight-lipped about the incident, at least one local witness claimed that better education needs to be given to avoid future problems. Greensborough man John Owen said, “I know they’re got signs and that on the actual road, but maybe a verbal alert that goes off on people’s sat navs? It’s a bloody nightmare mate, and the signs clearly aren’t working.”
