A local MP failed miserably this week after trying to emulate US President Donald Trump by posting a tweet containing a deliberate typo. Late on Friday night, the MP, Graham Miller, tweeted “This North East Link thing is just dranzdl”, leaving his followers more bemused than confused.

Trump drew significant attention earlier this week after bizarrely tweeting, just after midnight, “Despite the constant negative press covfefe” sending the internet into meltdown as nerds across the globe scrambled over themselves to publish new memes using the word “covfefe” in as many weird and wonderful ways as possible.

While opinions are mixed around the reason behind Trump’s bizarre tweet (for the record we think he was pissed), there can be no doubt it grabbed the attention of millions of people. In a failed attempt to leverage this fresh internet trend, Miller reportedly placed the deliberate typo in his tweet to get some cheap publicity.

Unfortunately for our local Member of Parliament, the sad grab for relevance fell on deaf ears. This may have something to do with the fact that Trump has 31.2 million Twitter followers, while Miller has just 276. And Miller has added a fail to a fail by not even giving a clear opinion on the North East Link when contacted by The Watsonia Bugle to clarifying his stupid tweet.
