An unofficial speed bump on Meakin Street in Watsonia North has finally been removed after launching several cars into orbit over the last few months. As the unintended lump in the road became bigger and bigger, many an unwitting motorist was launched into the stratosphere and over the approaching Macorna Street.

While the exact reason for the lump is yet to be confirmed, locals are just pleased that it has finally been flattened out. Fran Sampson told The Watsonia Bugle, “It’s about time really, because that thing just seemed to be growing by the day. At first I thought they’d put a speed bump there on purpose to slow traffic on Macorna, but then I realised it was just an air pocket or something.”
