Watsonia dad, Rob Black, has returned from a family holiday on the Victorian coastline and likened going to the beach with kids as being the designated driver on a night out to the pub. Having spent multiple trips to the beach chasing kids, dealing with tantrums, and trying to keep sandy hands out of the BBQ Shapes box, Black conceded that a day at the beach is no longer what it used to be.
Black told The Watsonia Bugle, “Going to the beach with your kids is like being the designated driver on a night out with your mates.” At the risk of sounding ungrateful about his beautiful young family, Rob then tried to explain his way out of the grand statement.
Black said, “Don’t get me wrong, it’s still good to be out of the house and that, but you can’t thoroughly enjoy a big day at the beach anymore. Like having one or two beers when you’re the designated driver, you can still have a couple of swims, but you can’t really get stuck into it because you’ve got responsibilities.”
