A local footy fan has confirmed his footy nuff credentials by travelling north to regional Victoria to watch his AFL club play a pre-season match. Xavier Young, a passionate Richmond fan, made the trip north to Wangaratta yesterday morning for the unique opportunity to watch two professional football teams battle it out on a country football ground.

Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle this morning from his Wangaratta motor inn, Young said, “It was bloody awesome mate, such a great way to watch the mighty Tiges kick off their premiership defence. We were so close to the action, full strength beer was served in cans, and you could stand for the whole match, just like in the old days.”

In contrast to Young’s glowing endorsement, some of his close friends have suggested that his attendance yesterday was clear confirmation that he is “full nuff”, despite frequent warnings to “never go full nuff”. Close friend Brad Finlayson said, “I guess we all knew it was the case, but this was just confirmation. He still wears a footy jumper to games, collects player badges and is right into his SuperCoach comps. He’s full nuff.”
