A Greensborough teenager has invested in a state-of-the-art Club lock to protect his new pride and joy… a 1997 Toyota Corolla. Lachlan Jones made the important decision late last week after reading about the spike in car thefts across Melbourne, not wanting to take any chances with his beloved new car.

Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle, Jones said, “I’m not taking any chances man, that car is too sweet a ride to leave wide open like that, especially when I park it at Northlands [sic]. My parents said that Club locks were all the rage when they were younger, so why not go a bit retro and safeguard my wheels?”

While the decision to use a Club lock is sure to turn a few heads around town, Jones was unrepentant. He said, “Do you think I care about what people will say about me when I can leave my car anywhere? No. No I will not. I will be safe in the knowledge that nothing will happen to my Corolla, no matter where I leave it.”
