An old bloke who gets up at 6.30am every morning to go for a run and do some sit ups has been overheard openly laughing at the latest fitness craze as he puts the finishes touches on his daily set of 100 push ups. George Price was talking to a young couple at Binnak Park yesterday morning when one member of the couple mentioned that they were doing a weekly high intensity crossfit functional yoga class with a five-minute nutrition lecture at the end of the session.
Upon hearing about the new class, Price reportedly tilted his head back and laughed loudly into the dark winter sky above him, condensation filling the air as it billowed out of his open mouth. He then coughed a bit, and got back onto the ground to continue pumping out some push ups.
After the now embarrassed couple continued on their walk, Price told The Watsonia Bugle, “Young people these days, they’re always after the quick fix. I’ve been doing this same routine for the last 30 years, every morning, and look at me, fit as a fiddle. There ain’t no substitute for hard work mate. Get stuck in, get it done, and get on with your life.”
