Months of speculation have ended as official signage goes up for new chemist on Watsonia Road. First reported by us over a year ago, the since heavily rumoured installation of a Chemist Warehouse is now official, with signs being erected this week, along with an army of workers filling the store to stock shelves and prepare for a presumably grand opening.

While questions remain about the general health and wellbeing of Watsonians, as yet another pharmacy is opened, calls last month for a royal commission into the topic remain unanswered. However, at least one local residents is concerned about the matter.

Carol Wallace told The Watsonia Bugle, “I understand the basics of economics and how competition is supposedly a good thing, but how many pharmacies does one suburb need? That’s the kind of deeper thinking and analysis that we need on this issue.”
