An Essendon supporter has been spotted setting up camp outside the MCG to become the first person in line for the 2019 Grand Final. Cameron Davey, an MCC member, was seen establishing a camp at around 6.00pm this evening in what is believed to be the earliest anyone has ever started queuing outside the iconic Melbourne venue for a future event.

While enthusiastic fans are normally spotted outside the ground in the middle of Grand Final week, it’s unlikely that anyone has ever camped out this early, but Davey insists it will all be worth it when his beloved Bombers raise the premiership cup in the penultimate game next season. Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle, Davey said, “Dylan Shiel is such a huge get. We’ve already got such a great list, but I reckon Shiel is the final piece in our premiership puzzle. 2019 is going to be awesome. It could even be the start of a dynasty. Go Bombers!”
