A local commuter has callously chuckled at receiving train delay notifications on his smartphone while on holidays. Daniel Stanford subscribed to the useful notification service early last year, and while being told of a train delay normally angers him, he has giggled at the notifications over the last week or so.
Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle this week, Stanford said, “Yeah mate, it’s actually hilarious. Normally I do my nut when they come through, but this week I just chuckle to meself, put me phone back in me pocket, and get ready for the beach. I know that some suckers are being tortured by the delays, but it doesn’t impact on me so I couldn’t give a stuff.”
While Stanford was bullish about his amusement over train delays this week, he conceded that the longer this week progressed, the less amused he was, as he slowly prepared himself mentally for a return to work on Monday. He said, “To be honest, I laughed a lot harder earlier in the week, but as time has gone on, I’ve sobered a little. Before I know it I’ll be back on that bloody treadmill!”
