A local man has already begun scouting supermarkets across the Diamond Valley to search for excess, and therefore drastically marked down, Easter stock. Timothy Bailey commenced the hunt early this morning in an attempt to capture the best chocolate available as multiple supermarkets attempt to rid themselves of leftover Easter eggs and bunnies.
Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle, Bailey said, “You know what they say, the early bird gets the worm. So, I’ve been driving around the Diamond Valley all morning buying up all the best bargains that I can find. It’s like the Boxing Day sales for me each year. I basically buy up my next six months worth of chocolate for half price or better.”
A veteran bargain hunter, Bailey claims that the best locations change from year-to-year. He said, “It changes every single year. Sometimes Eltham have heaps of stock leftover, other times it’s Greensy. So, I get around to all of them nice and early to see what’s happening. Apart from sharing a meal with family, this bulk Easter buy up is my favourite Easter tradition. Actually, on second thoughts, the Easter Sunday lunch with family is nowhere near as good as this.”
