The Sydney Swans are reportedly planning on adding a Dane Rampe clip-on figurine to their merchandise range, in a move that is sure to further rub salt into the wounds of Essendon supporters still livid by the odd events of last Friday evening. In case you missed it, Rampe sparked controversy on Friday night when he bizarrely attempted to scale a goal post while an Essendon opponent took an after-the-siren shot on goal in an attempt to win the match.

While news of the controversial non-decision around Rampe’s illegal manouevre begins to simmer, a source from within the Sydney Swans club claims a Rampe clip-on will be added to the club’s merchandise range within days. The source said, “Yeah mate, they’re pretty close to approving the prototype either today or tomorrow, and then they’ll send it to the production line. Kids will have these hanging onto their backpacks before the end of this school term.”

When quizzed around the suitability of such a product, due to the sensitivities around Rampe’s actions last Friday, the source was unrepentant. They said, “It’s a competitive marketplace out there, it’s all about diversifying your offerings. Not to mention being on-trend! This will be a great addition to our range.”
