A Watsonia man has boldly nominated Paul Kelly to represent Australia at next year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Cameron Nolan made the executive decision last night while watching the opening rounds of the world-famous singing competition, telling those with him that it was a “no-brainer” to send Kelly to Europe next year.

Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle this morning to clarify his decision, Nolan said, “Absolutely mate. How good would it be? It’s a no-brainer to send him. The only tough decision is what song should he sing. I mean, there’s just so many to choose from.”

While Nolan insisted that he had nothing against this year’s representative, Kate Miller-Heidke, he just said it was time to unleash what he described as “the true voice of our nation”. Nolan also said, “Imagine him just standing up there on that fancy stage. Just Paul with his acoustic guitar, a mic stand, and his harmonica. It’d be sick.”
