A local footy tips competitor is contemplating when to start taking a few calculated risks as she sits just two tips behind the leader in a competition being run at her workplace. Watsonia’s very own Belinda Hammond, username allforthemoney, has been patiently waiting to make a late charge at the winner’s prizemoney and ulitmate glory for about a month now, reportedly telling close friends that “it’s now or never moles”.
When contacted by The Watsonia Bugle, Hammond said, “I hardly slept a wink last night. I’ve been consuming more footy-related content than ever before. It’s doing my head in to be honest. I’m only two behind the leader, so I need to get three up on him to score the $300. If I get at least one or two of those tips this round it puts me in the box seat to clutch victory in the final round.”
While Hammond is yet to finalise her tips for this weekend, she has been engaging the current leader in casual chit chat all week, also trying to throw a few red herrings his way. She said, “Yeah I’m trying to throw him off a bit. Just occasionally mentioning a key injury here or there. Mentioning that so and so is a bit of a bogey team for whats their name. I’ll stop at nothing to get the win here. I could really do something with that 300 bucks.”
