A local bat infestation is reportedly just one night away from inspiring an open-ended question on Watsonia’s community Facebook page, as residents spent yet another restless night listening to bats squabble and do other bat things in trees around Watsonia North. One anonymous local claims they’re pretty close to throwing a question to a masses in a scattergun approach to finding out why the flying rodents have suddenly set upon the normally sleepy clime of Watsonia North.

Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle, the anonymous resident said, “Last night was pretty bad. Slightly worse than the night before. I’ve never really noticed bats around here before, apart from the occasional one flying overhead. I’m not sure what asking about it on Facebook will actually achieve, but it seems to be what people do these days in their eternal search for answers.”

Meanwhile, other residents expressed surprise that someone hasn’t already quizzed their predominantly unqualified neighbours in an attempt to solve the riddle of the recent visitors. Ted Laker said, “I’m not on the Facebook very much, but I’ve heard that’s how young people solve their problems these days. Surely putting the question out there and then reading the speculative answers from a wide variety of people with varying zoological knowledge would be a great way to get to the bottom of all this.”
