A Sydneysider has decided to hold off on the tired old “it always rains in Melbourne” schtick just for this weekend, as her home town prepares to potentially receive upwards of 200mm of rain over two days. With a Noah-esque weather forecast in place for the harbour city, Caitlyn McDaniels has privately committed to easing up on criticising Melbourne’s supposedly excessive rainfall at least for the next few days.
Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle as rain tumbled down on her obscenely expensive rental property, McDaniels said, “Yeah bra, I might ease up on them Melbourne gags for a bit, eh? We really need to batten down the hatches for a bit, literally, so now’s not the time for a bit of Melbourne bashing.”
However, despite multiple meteorological studies that indicate Sydney – on average – receives more annual rainfall than Melbourne, McDaniels remained resolute in her NSW birth rite to put shit on the Victorian capital’s weather. She said, “Yo, ease up man, it rains heaps more in Melbourne and that, yeah. This weekend in Sydney is a one off. It rains more in Melbourne, man. Trust me.”
