A temporarily land-locked local shredder is continuing his search for a new surf break, after failing to locate a decent ride in any of our region’s waterways. Bodi Parkinson has spent the best part of a week scouting for potential new surf spots, after quickly realising that there are no ocean beaches within the five-kilometre radius from his home in Greensborough.

Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle about his struggle, Parkinson said, “Yeah man, it’s a real battle out there, totally. I thought I might be able to find something, but so far I’ve wiped out big time. That rain earlier in the week didn’t even get the Plenty River rapids going that hard, it was a real bummer.”

After publicly ruing the fact he wasn’t as lucky as Karen from Brighton with her seaside locale, Parkinson said he would start to think outside of the box. He said, “Maybe I need to get down to Kalparrin Lake and get that native humpback whale to start splashing around and creating a bit of a swell. That could be gnarly.”
