Spotify have reportedly provided free subscriptions to the Australian cricketers currently serving their quarantine in a biosecurity bubble in Southampton. The kind offer from the popular music streaming service was provided thanks to our nation’s cricketers being notorious Spotify enthusiasts, in particular Moises Henriques as seen here.
An anonymous source from with the Aussie camp said the offer had been well received by the team. The insider said, “Sure, a lot of these guys earn in excess of a million bucks a year, but who doesn’t love a freebie? And being so far from home, stranded inside the hub, and plenty of time on their hands, Spotify provides one of the treasured comforts from home.”
While the source refused to name the squad’s biggest Spotify enthusiast, they said, “As a general rule, the batters are more into it. While long-form players are encouraged to play in ‘the V’, these short-form specialists are accustomed to more expansive play.”
