A local mum often wonders why people insisted on continuing to make music after the release of John Farnham’s career-defining album Whispering Jack. Carol Johnson is of the solid belief that the album was “musical perfection” and, therefore, remains unsure why any musician has even bothered to attempt to match it since.

Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle about the issue, Johnson said, “It’s unparalleled as far as I’m concerned. Every song on that album reaches a level never heard before or since. There’s melody, emotion, feeling and power. What more could you want from an album?”

When we gently suggested that maybe that’s just her personal opinion, Johnson bristled, “That’s rubbish, absolute rubbish. Other people say they’ve heard better but, honestly, they have no idea what they’re talking about. The entire music industry should’ve just closed their many doors after 1986.”
