A local man has covertly added some Savage Garden to his weekend playlist while nobody else was home, later conceding that the band is one of his musical guilty pleasures. Dave Bamford made the confession late yesterday when his wife and children returned home for the day, and found him miming the lyrics to “Truly Madly Deeply” whilst wearing nothing but his jocks and socks.
Reflecting on the moment his family discovered his dirty little secret, Bamford said, “It was uncomfortable at first, but now I feel quite relieved to be honest. It’s all out in the open, you know, so I don’t have to keep guarding this secret I’ve been hiding from my loved ones since the late-90s. This is good. Healthy.”
Bamford also said he hoped this moment could help raise awareness of the musical stylings of pop duo Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones. He said, “I think it’s time to make them cool again. Fashion works in 20-year cycles, so why can’t music be the same. Get Darren and Daniel back together, tour the nation, give the people what they want and need.”
