A Watsonia woman has made the bold claim that coffee tastes better from a takeaway cup, insisting on always taking her caffeine hit from the disposable cups instead of washable mugs or glasses. While the rest of the world is finally catching on to the possibility that our reliance on plastic may not be such a good thing, Brenda Fleming is adamant that her daily flat white is best enjoyed from a takeaway cup with a plastic lid.

In an exclusive interview with The Watsonia Bugle, Fleming said, “I know it’s not great for the environment and that, but I know what I like, and I like my coffee in a takeaway cup. Maybe it’s the tiny spout that offers the ideal distribution, maybe it’s the fact that the lid hides any imperfections in the milk froth, or maybe I just don’t like doing the dishes?”

While Fleming was unable to produce any concrete scientific evidence to support her theory, she did say, “I saw a captioned video on Facebook once that explained why it’s better in a takeaway cup. I just can’t remember the exact reasons though. Soz.”
