A local Dees fan admits he’s started to day dream about sampling a diverse yet satisfying cheese board in the September sun at the MCG this year. Cameron McAllister-Daniels made the stark admission this morning to friends, as he approached the new working week safe in the knowledge that the Melbourne Demons are currently sitting on top of the ladder after nine straight wins to start the 2021 season.

Currently occupying unchartered territory, McAllister-Daniels says he’s finally allowing himself to dare to dream. Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle, he said, “Up until now I’ve just been waiting for the inevitable collapse, but I’m feeling more confident now. I mean, we’re only a few wins away from locking in a finals spot, so it’s time to start dreaming big. I might even start researching which seasonal fruits taste best with certain cheeses in a southern hemisphere September. You know, really deliver a cheese platter that is fit for the grand occasion of finals football.”

Despite the mostly positive changes in his lifestyle, McAllister-Daniels did concede that recent events might curtail his usual winter recreation options. He said, “I’m genuinely thinking about renting out the family’s Mt Buller chalet this winter. I know we missed most of last year’s snow season as well, but I just feel like there’ll be more keeping me in the city this winter. Melbourne has so much to offer. And so does the city… haha.”
