Thousands of Ring Road motorists are receiving inaccurate geographical information about Macorna Street in Watsonia North each and every day. The misinformation relates to the northern end of Macorna Street, where the major arterial ends in a very pleasant and otherwise quiet residential cul-de-sac.

However, motorists heading along the Metropolitan Ring Road in both directions are repeatedly being forced to read a ‘Macorna Street’ sign on the pedestrian overpass that looms over the highway. While such bridge signage normally provides useful information about the bridge you are passing underneath, local man Daniel Hamilton claims that labelling the bridge as being Macorna Street is misleading, and potentially dangerous.

Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle about his concerns, Hamilton said, “It just doesn’t make sense. How many people do you reckon drive on that Ring Road each day? It’d be thousands, probably tens of thousands, and they’re probably all of the impression that you can drive over that bridge. But you can’t. It’s solely for pedestrians. So, why would they put that sign on it? Why, why why?”
