A local Collingwood fan is of the belief that if his team can beat ladder-leaders Melbourne this weekend the Magpies might just sneak into the finals. Buoyed by his side’s narrow win over 15th-placed Adelaide last Saturday night, Callum Henderson has been telling friends that the Pies are just hitting form at the right end of the season.
Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle, Henderson said, “There’s no point in using up all your wins at the start of the season. You need to peak in the second half of the year. And the Dees are ripe for the picking here, I reckon we’ll knock them off, then who knows what the ceiling is? We’re only four or five wins out of the eight. It’s the ‘Flagpies’ all over again, mate. Get on board!”
Henderson also claimed the newfound form meant the club should rush to sign previously under-siege coach Nathan Buckley. Henderson said, “Yeah mate, sign him before one of them other clubs tried to steal him. Seriously. He’s always had the job for life anyway, so who are we kidding?”
