An extremely unlucky motorist has been caught speeding in the final 20 metres of the 40kph zone on Watsonia Road. Driving in a northerly direction towards Grimshaw Street, Graeme Wilson was clocked at 47kph in the 20-metre stretch between the last 40 sign and the sign indicating the end of the 40 zone.

While local residents have long wondered why those two signs are so close together, it seems it is for motorists like Wilson who pay little attention to road signage. While Wilson was clearly angry about the fine when contacted by The Watsonia Bugle, he can hardly argue that there wasn’t adequate signage in the area where he was caught breaking the law.
