A local group of giant dim sim enthusiasts say they’re making a last-ditch bid for funding in upcoming Federal Budget announcement. With the Albanese government set to deliver the new Federal Budget later this month, a small bunch of Watsonia residents have sniffed an opportunity.

The collective, going by the name of Watsonians for Giant Dim Sim Monument, are attempting to breathe life back into our suburb’s long-term vision of having a large-scale tribute to the local delicacy. A spokesperson told The Watsonia Bugle, “This is our chance. Albo seems like a much cooler dude than ScoMo, so I reckon he’ll get around this concept. We’ve given him a bit of time to get settled in the job, but it’s time to start making some meaningful change for everyday Australians.”

Calls for a giant dim sim to be installed on Watsonia Road first began back in November 2017, and have continued in the five years since then. Will this be the magical moment when all our dreams come true? We can only hope…
