Bundoora residents have reportedly petitioned a pair of Hollywood stars to help them regain their bowling alley from Greensborough. As revealed late last week, Zac Efron and John Cena will be in town next month to shoot scenes for their upcoming film Ricky Stanicky at the oddly-named venue.

As previously reported by The Watsonia Bugle, for over 20 years now, the ten pin bowling alley on Grimshaw Street has been known as “Greensborough Lanes” despite clearly sitting within the suburb of Bundoora. In fact, our beloved Watsonia suburb is wedged between both Greensborough and Bundoora, making the naming of the entertainment venue even stranger.

A spokesperson for the group of passionate Bundoora residents said, “We’ve been campaigning for this for years, but these big names might be just what we need to get this naming issue corrected. Zac Efron has 57.9 million Instagram followers, and John Cena has 18.3 million. I mean, I didn’t even know that was possible. Imagine they did a post about it, we’d have this thing fixed by the end of the week.”
