Speculation is mounting over potential changes to Watsonia North’s thriving retail precinct as the inside of the Macorna Store undergoes renovations. It seems that arguably the best named business in the local area has changed hands, as local residents have also noted that the A-Frame sign on the corner of Grimshaw Street and Macorna Street has disappeared. You know, the one that claimed the Macorna Store sold the best coffee in town… probably.

Signage around the awning of the building has also been removed, further suggesting that the Macorna Store is no longer, and sparking an optimistic hope that Greensy Blockbuster might be relocating to Watsy North. While that prospect seems highly unlikely, the people have Watsonia North have gone into overdrive attempting to predict what will become of the prime location.

Speaking exclusively to The Watsonia Bugle, one local resident said, “This is momentous. Ever since Sunday night, me and all my neighbours have been speculating what’s going to go there. Will it be another chemist? A 24-hour gym that encourages you to exercise outside of a gym? Fish and chip shop? A swanky wine bar? Who knows?!”

Known for our peerless investigative journalism and nose for a real story, not even The Watsonia Bugle has been able to find out any concrete details about the potential changes. Can you shed any light on it?
